Man vs Cheetah

14 abril 2007

What would happen in a race between a man and a cheetah? Despite the obvious answer, rugby player Bryan Habana has tested his racing skills against a three-year-old cheetah at the De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre outside Pretoria. The rugby star was given a 30m head start and almost walked away victorious, but the cheetah effortlessly pipped Habana a few metres from the 100m finish line:

The race was part of a plan of the De Wildt centre to save the cheetahs left in South Africa. However, some animal right activists were not pleased about the exhibition, saying it amounted to "exploitation of the worse kind".

* Those who think that Bryan Habana is not so fast after all, take a look at this video, please.
